As mentioned in my previous post, I met Tejas and Dhiraj — two Cisco engineers who attended the Wi-Fi Knowledge Summit 2025. After a brief conversation, I realized how much they appreciated my work, as my blog had supported them on their Wi-Fi journey.
I had kept a day free in case a visit to the Cisco office worked out. I reached out to my friend Surendra to see if any of his colleagues could help arrange it. With heavy flooding in Bangalore at the time, even he wasn’t sure if it would be possible. But thanks to some good luck — and Tejas’s effort — the visit came together.
Although it was a Friday and many engineers were working from home, a few enthusiastic Wi-Fi professionals made it to the office on short notice to make my visit truly special. It started with a short meet-and-greet session with Ananth (not in the picture as he had to go for a meeting). They gave me a small gift and some Indian sweets—which explains why everyone else is smiling nicely in the photo, while I’m struggling to hold my smile!

I had the opportunity to meet most of the Wireless BCS (Business Critical Services) engineers from Tejas’s team and had a great time. We also had lunch together at the Cisco office to make the experience complete.

Here’s a photo with some of the Wireless TAC engineers who were on-site that day. Most of them said they first learned about Autonomous AP concepts through my blog. We had a great conversation about the experiences we go through as customers and the pressure TAC engineers face on their side. Some of them even start their shifts as early as 5:30 AM to support certain time zones—something that often goes unrecognized and underappreciated.

I had the opportunity to visit wireless BU labs and meet some of the core developers of 9800 WLC thanks to Ragha who kindly took the time to make it happen.

I’m glad I was able to make this visit and create some memories for all of us. I hope my visit inspires these engineers to follow their dreams while staying humble and supporting others.

Looking forward to meeting you again—whether in India or somewhere else in the world.
