I had the privilege of being featured on the Clear-to-Send podcast, where I shared my origin story and journey into the world of Wi-Fi. In this episode, we discussed how I got started in wireless and the experiences that shaped my career.

I thought I’d look back and reflect on some key points. When it comes to mentors, I mentioned George and Chris, who helped me early in my Wi-Fi career. Here’s a picture from the first time I met them in 2017.

In the podcast, we talked about mindful practices and how important they are to me. François remembered that I taught him how to do mindful walking while we were in Austin. See the picture below – good times! Back then, we still had black hair. Here is a list of blog posts where I talked about my mindfulness practices.

The following year, I met Rowell at Cisco Live 2018 in Florida. By that time, I believe Rowell and François were already doing their CTS podcast series. Congratulations to both of them for keeping this CTS podcast going for the past 10 years.

We discussed the importance of the wireless community and how these events help people grow on their Wi-Fi journeys. I am truly grateful for the WLPC event and fortunate to have attended two each year – February in the US and October in EU. In 2019, I had the privilege of meeting many global Wi-Fi professionals in person at WLPC, where I was honored with the ‘Person of the Year’ award.

Towards the end of the podcast, we talked about my kids’ CoolWiFiKidz YouTube channel and the real reason behind it. François remembered that my son was inspired to start a YouTube channel back in 2019 (see some photos from Cisco Live in San Diego that year). I’m glad I was able to bring my family to experience the Cisco community firsthand and see how much impact you can make by simply sharing your knowledge. One day, I would love for them to see a WLPC event and experience the global Wi-Fi community firsthand.

Thank you once again to François and Rowell for giving me the opportunity to share my journey. Keep moving forward on your Wi-Fi journey while inspiring someone around you to take a similar path.
